Fried Fish Patties
Origin: Indonesia
Ingredients
- 300 g white fish fillet
- 200 g tofu
- 2 pc eggs
- 4-5 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp fried shallot or fried onion
- 1 pc spring onion, finely sliced
- oil to fry
Spice for the paste
- 2 gloves garlic
- ½ tsp pepper
- 1 tsp salt or to taste
Fried Fish Patties
Whether to serve as a side dish or appetizer… this small fried patties is something hard to resist 😉Tipp: There is no top secret of making tasty & yummy Indonesian fried patties, not require special trick nor a MSG!! Only one thing: Just add fried shallots to the batter. I ensure you, the fritters will taste simply delicious!!
Instructions
- Chop the fish fillet finely, set aside. In a bowl, squeeze the tofu with your hand until it is crushed in grains.
- Pound/grind the spice ingredients into a smooth paste.
- Add the fried shallots/onions, pound it just roughly and stir to mix.
- Add the flour and eggs into the tofu & fish bowl, mix all ingredients with a spoon until well mixed. The batter may look a bit thin, just ignore it and don't add more flour to obtain the optimum taste.
- Adjust the seasoning, add the salt in necessary. Add the chopped spring onion stir to mix.
- Heat about 150 ml oil over medium heat. Spoon the fritter batter and drop it into the oil. Fry until golden brown. ((Make sure to leave a gap while droping to avoid the fritters sticking to each other).
- Turn around to the other side until both sides golden brown.
- Set aside to drain or drain on paper towel.
