Fried Fish Patties

Tipp: There is no top secret of making tasty & yummy Indonesian fried patties, not require special trick nor a MSG!! Only one thing: Just add fried shallots to the batter. I ensure you, the fritters will taste simply delicious!!

  • Chop the fish fillet finely, set aside. In a bowl, squeeze the tofu with your hand until it is crushed in grains.
  • Pound/grind the spice ingredients into a smooth paste.
  • Add the fried shallots/onions, pound it just roughly and stir to mix.
  • Add the flour and eggs into the tofu & fish bowl, mix all ingredients with a spoon until well mixed. The batter may look a bit thin, just ignore it and don't add more flour to obtain the optimum taste.
  • Adjust the seasoning, add the salt in necessary. Add the chopped spring onion stir to mix.
  • Heat about 150 ml oil over medium heat. Spoon the fritter batter and drop it into the oil. Fry until golden brown. ((Make sure to leave a gap while droping to avoid the fritters sticking to each other).
  • Turn around to the other side until both sides golden brown.
  • Set aside to drain or drain on paper towel.
